D Rosen operates from the position that questions of animality are not binary but rather a tangle of ecologies and richly complicated identities framed by culture. Rosen attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 2018, received an MFA from the University of Chicago in 2013, and a BFA from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design in 2011. They exhibit and publish internationally. Recent residencies include a partnership with USF Verftet and S12 (Bergen, Norway) focused on glass casting and queer vampire Bats. They have an upcoming exhibition at ExGirlfriend (Berlin, Germany) and a residency at SÍM (Reykjavík, Iceland). In 2024, their text titled "Gorgets: Trans Hummingbirds and Iridescent Echoes" will be published in the "Queering Nature" issue of Antennae: The Journal of Nature in Visual Culture.
